Previously, he served as Deputy Editor-in-Chief at The Pioneer and headed the Berlin bureau of the RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland. His journalistic career has taken him from taz and the San Diego Union-Tribune to Der Spiegel, where he worked as a correspondent in Washington, D.C. His reporting has earned him multiple awards.
