Nicole Büttner

Founder, Merantix Momentum

Nicole Büttner is an economist, entrepreneur and investor. As a Founding Partner at Merantix Capital, she invests in early-stage technology companies. She previously founded and led Merantix Momentum and today serves as Chair of its Supervisory Board. Handelsblatt has named her one of the most influential women in Germany’s tech industry.

Alongside her entrepreneurial activities, Büttner works at the intersection of business, technology and society. She serves on the Supervisory Board of Swiss IT services provider ELCA, is Co-President of Lucerne Dialogue and a member of the Digital Advisory Board of the German Federal Ministry of Defence. She also co-founded AI House Davos and the Merantix AI Campus in Berlin. In 2025/26, she served as Secretary General of the FDP.

Her career has taken her from the financial sector in Paris to Auctionomics in Palo Alto and ultimately into entrepreneurship. Büttner studied economics in St. Gallen and at the Sorbonne, completed a Master’s degree in Quantitative Economics & Finance in St. Gallen and Stockholm, and conducted research as a Visiting Scholar at Stanford.
