Maya Tharian ist WWF Praktikantin und engagiert sich ehrenamtlich bei den Jungen Grünliberalen.

Ihre politischen Schwerpunkte liegen im Bereich Umwelt- und Klimapolitik, insbesondere Sustainable Finance. Als Mitglied der Geschäftsleitung der Jungen GLP Schweiz ist sie verantwortlich für die Führung der Jungallianz fürs Klima und leitet weitere Kampagnen. Zuvor war sie als Aktivistin im Klimastreik die Hauptautorin des Kapitels "Finanzplatz" vom Climate Action Plan und hat Öffentlichkeitsarbeit im Bereich Sustainable Finance geleistet. Sie engagiert sich aktiv für eine offene und tolerante Schweiz. Als Kind von indischen Einwanderern erkennt sie den Wert der kulturellen Vielfalt, die durch Migration in die Schweiz gebracht wird, und betrachtet dies als Chance.

Maya Tharian hat 2023 den Bachelor in Politikwissenschaften an der Universität Zürich erworben.

Maya Tharian

Maya Tharian is a WWF intern and is an honorary member of the Young Green Liberals.

Her political focus is on environmental and climate policy, particularly sustainable finance. As a member of the Young GLP Switzerland executive board, she is responsible for leading the Young Alliance for Climate and managing other campaigns. Previously, as an activist in the climate strike, she was the main author of the "Finanzplatz" chapter of the Climate Action Plan and did public relations work in sustainable finance. She is actively committed to an open and tolerant Switzerland. As a child of Indian immigrants, she recognises the value of the cultural diversity brought to Switzerland through migration and sees this as an opportunity.

Maya Tharian graduated with a Bachelor's in Political Science from the University of Zurich in 2023.
