S8nations – smart nations, big impact - ist eine globale Initiative und Plattform, die von einem umfangreichen Netzwerk angesehener Führungspersönlichkeiten aus Industrie, Wissenschaft und Regierung aus leistungsstarken kleinen Nationen unterstützt wird.
 
Inspiriert von dem Buch „Too Small to Fail: How Some Small Nations Are Reshaping The World“ von James Breiding wurde die Organisation auf der Grundlage der Idee gegründet, dass die Gesellschaften eine neue Weltordnung ins Auge fassen müssen, die auf der Erkenntnis beruht, dass unsere Zukunft ganz anders aussehen wird als die Welt, in der wir heute leben. Während große Nationen traditionell an der Spitze dieser Ordnung stehen, kommen Lösungen für einen Tsunami drängender sozioökonomischer Herausforderungen wie Klimawandel, Pandemien, Einwanderung, künstliche Intelligenz, alternde Bevölkerungen und verlangsamtes Wachstum zunehmend von kleinen, anpassungsfähigen und leistungsfähigen Nationen.

What does this mean for Europe's economy? How can Europe unite the strength of small nations and thus make Europe more economically viable? Author James Breiding explores these and other questions in his session at the Annual Meeting.

The Swiss-American author founded the investment company Naissance Capital and the non-profit organisation S8nations.

S8nations – smart nations, big impact - is a global initiative and platform supported by an extensive network of distinguished leaders across industry, academia, and government from outperforming small nations. Delegates and partners in each of the S8 countries represent and promote the initiative.

Inspired by the book “Too Small to Fail: How Some Small Nations Are Reshaping The World” by James Breiding, the organization was founded on the idea that societies need to contemplate a new world order based on the recognition that our future will be very different from the world we live in today. While big nations have traditionally been at the forefront of this order, solutions to a tsunami of pressing socio-economic challenges such as climate change, pandemics, immigration, artificial intelligence, aging populations, and slowing growth are increasingly coming from small, adaptive and outperforming nations.
